CRANES

Explanation

CRANES continues the inquiry begun in HOMIE and FAR EAST, again using the deck as a support for an image that should not, by conventional logic, belong there. The object still carries the residue of street culture and abrasion, but the surface has become something closer to a gilded hanging panel.

The cranes appear across the gold in small, staged groupings. They read as elegant and faintly absurd at once: long-legged, delicate, slightly awkward, caught in a space that does not quite behave like landscape.
