PEACOCK 01

Explanation

PEACOCK 01 stands the deck upright and gives it over to the most decorative bird in the world, rendered in the least likely metal for the job. The ground is copper leaf, warm and ruddy, the peacock descending it in profile among sprays of blossom.

Not the gold one expects beneath a peacock, but copper. The board was painted dark and leafed, and the leaf allowed to crack, so the bird and the flowers surface through it.
